Information to record
Use these prompts to agree the record for your project. Keep the answers and their source references together; leave an unknown value explicit rather than filling it with an assumption.
- Statement reference
- Identify the report section or observation.
- Tree coverage
- State the tree or area concerned.
- Evidence item
- List photograph, field note or document ID.
- Source date
- Record the visit or issue date.
- Location in source
- Point to the relevant page, image or record.
Checks for this task
- Check each reference opens or identifies the intended evidence.
- Separate evidence supplied by others from field observations.
- Update references when files or report numbering change.
A worked example
Illustrative example, not a client case: Observation O6 for T010 refers to image P12 and the dated field record. A drawing supplied by the project team has its own revision reference, allowing the reader to distinguish the sources.
Scope and limits
References support review but do not establish that every source statement is accurate or independently verified.
Use the worksheet
The download contains the prompts and checks above with space for your project notes. It is a plain text document you can edit in a text editor or copy into your project brief. It contains no client information and does not run calculations, import records or change an account.
