Information to record

Use these prompts to agree the record for your project. Keep the answers and their source references together; leave an unknown value explicit rather than filling it with an assumption.

Appendix identity
Assign a clear title and reference.
Contents
Describe the material and coverage included.
Source version
Identify supplied plans or earlier documents.
Main-text link
Record where the appendix is referenced.
Access arrangement
State any separate file or restricted evidence location.

Checks for this task

  1. Include only relevant, authorised material.
  2. Check appendix references after final pagination.
  3. Confirm separate files are identified in the handover contents note.

A worked example

Illustrative example, not a client case: Appendix B contains the tree schedule and Appendix C the labelled photo set. A plan is supplied as a separate identified file with its revision, and the report explains where it is referenced.

Scope and limits

An appendix does not expand the commissioned assessment or turn supplied material into independently verified evidence.

Use the worksheet

The download contains the prompts and checks above with space for your project notes. It is a plain text document you can edit in a text editor or copy into your project brief. It contains no client information and does not run calculations, import records or change an account.
