Information to record
Use these prompts to agree the record for your project. Keep the answers and their source references together; leave an unknown value explicit rather than filling it with an assumption.
- Boundary source
- Identify the plan, description and its version.
- Inclusion rule
- State which trees or groups are covered.
- Excluded areas
- List areas outside the commission.
- Access exceptions
- Describe included areas not reached during the visit.
- Coverage evidence
- Keep the survey map and notes together.
Checks for this task
- Confirm the boundary with the authorised project contact.
- Mark uncertain edge cases for review before issue.
- Do not describe a selected-tree survey as a complete property inventory.
A worked example
Illustrative example, not a client case: The brief includes trees within a marked garden boundary and excludes the adjoining reserve. The report identifies one inaccessible section separately, allowing the client to understand the actual coverage.
Scope and limits
A survey boundary records commissioned coverage and does not establish legal property boundaries or ownership.
Use the worksheet
The download contains the prompts and checks above with space for your project notes. It is a plain text document you can edit in a text editor or copy into your project brief. It contains no client information and does not run calculations, import records or change an account.
