Information to record
Use these prompts to agree the record for your project. Keep the answers and their source references together; leave an unknown value explicit rather than filling it with an assumption.
- Tree reference
- List the register ID behind each label.
- Map label
- Record the displayed number or identifier.
- Location check
- Confirm the pin matches the intended record.
- Crowded area
- Identify labels that overlap or hide one another.
- Export review
- Record the issued map version checked.
Checks for this task
- Follow a sample tree from the schedule to the map and photographs.
- Check crowded areas at the intended print size.
- Do not silently renumber assets merely to improve map layout.
A worked example
Illustrative example, not a client case: Pins for T031 and T032 overlap in an overview. The report includes a clearer detail view with the same IDs, and the reviewer confirms both references match the schedule.
Scope and limits
Pin checking does not establish location accuracy; retain the location method and its limitations.
Use the worksheet
The download contains the prompts and checks above with space for your project notes. It is a plain text document you can edit in a text editor or copy into your project brief. It contains no client information and does not run calculations, import records or change an account.
