Information to record
Use these prompts to agree the record for your project. Keep the answers and their source references together; leave an unknown value explicit rather than filling it with an assumption.
- Reader task
- Explain what the map must help locate.
- Output size
- Record the intended screen or page size.
- Map extent
- Identify the area shown in each view.
- Detail requirement
- List areas needing a closer view.
- Scale reference
- Record any supplied scale information and its basis.
Checks for this task
- Inspect the exported view at its intended size.
- Do not imply a calibrated scale from an arbitrary screenshot.
- Keep tree IDs consistent between overview and detail views.
A worked example
Illustrative example, not a client case: A report uses an overview for the whole property and a detail map for the entrance garden. Both reference the same schedule, while any scale information is described according to its actual source.
Scope and limits
This worksheet chooses presentation requirements; it does not certify spatial accuracy or scale calibration.
Use the worksheet
The download contains the prompts and checks above with space for your project notes. It is a plain text document you can edit in a text editor or copy into your project brief. It contains no client information and does not run calculations, import records or change an account.
