Information to record
Use these prompts to agree the record for your project. Keep the answers and their source references together; leave an unknown value explicit rather than filling it with an assumption.
- Tree identity
- Keep one stable reference for the agreed asset.
- Stem references
- Identify each recorded stem without changing tree identity.
- Measurements
- Keep each value with its stated unit.
- Recording convention
- State how stems were distinguished and recorded.
- Calculation source
- Identify any separately applied method and its authority.
Checks for this task
- Confirm the required convention with the responsible practitioner.
- Check that individual values have not become an unexplained total.
- Retain the original stem measurements when an output uses a derived value.
A worked example
Illustrative example, not a client case: T011 has stems S1 and S2 recorded separately. The field notes identify the convention used. A later derived result references those source entries rather than replacing them with a single undocumented number.
Scope and limits
No combined-diameter formula or assessment rule is supplied; use the method agreed for the commission.
Use the worksheet
The download contains the prompts and checks above with space for your project notes. It is a plain text document you can edit in a text editor or copy into your project brief. It contains no client information and does not run calculations, import records or change an account.
