Information to record
Use these prompts to agree the record for your project. Keep the answers and their source references together; leave an unknown value explicit rather than filling it with an assumption.
- Assessment areas
- Mark the locations relevant to the enquiry.
- Inclusion rule
- Explain which individual trees or groups need records.
- Access route
- Describe gates, site contacts and practical access.
- Available plans
- Identify mapping information and its source.
- Required advice
- State the decision that needs professional assessment.
Checks for this task
- Agree how grouped trees will be referenced in the deliverable.
- Identify areas beyond the commissioned scope.
- Explain location uncertainty where mapping is approximate.
A worked example
Illustrative example, not a client case: A landholder asks for advice around a house and access drive on a large property. The brief marks those areas and avoids describing the commission as a complete inventory of every tree on the land.
Scope and limits
An arboricultural inventory does not automatically provide ecological, land-survey or bushfire advice; clarify any additional disciplines needed.
Use the worksheet
The download contains the prompts and checks above with space for your project notes. It is a plain text document you can edit in a text editor or copy into your project brief. It contains no client information and does not run calculations, import records or change an account.
