Information to record
Use these prompts to agree the record for your project. Keep the answers and their source references together; leave an unknown value explicit rather than filling it with an assumption.
- Property boundary
- Identify the areas included in the commission.
- Operational contact
- Name the person coordinating access.
- Decision purpose
- State what the inventory should help decide.
- Excluded areas
- Describe leased or inaccessible areas requiring clarification.
- Handover audience
- Identify the people who will use the issued records.
Checks for this task
- Confirm access arrangements with the responsible site contact.
- Separate tree advice from maintenance booking and completion status.
- Ask for a consistent tree reference across the schedule and map.
A worked example
Illustrative example, not a client case: A commercial site includes shared landscaping and a tenant-controlled courtyard. The brief identifies both areas but asks the manager to resolve courtyard access before the scope is finalised.
Scope and limits
The brief does not establish property rights, assessment conclusions or a maintenance contract.
Use the worksheet
The download contains the prompts and checks above with space for your project notes. It is a plain text document you can edit in a text editor or copy into your project brief. It contains no client information and does not run calculations, import records or change an account.
