Information to record
Use these prompts to agree the record for your project. Keep the answers and their source references together; leave an unknown value explicit rather than filling it with an assumption.
- Site and contact
- State where the trees are and who can arrange access.
- Main question
- Explain the decision you want advice to support.
- Tree references
- Use photographs or a sketch to identify the trees.
- Timeline
- Record when a concern or change was first observed.
- Recipient needs
- Describe any required report format or deadline.
Checks for this task
- Include wide context photographs as well as close views.
- Separate observed facts from explanations you want assessed.
- Confirm the deliverables and excluded work before accepting the scope.
A worked example
Illustrative example, not a client case: A manager sends a close-up of a branch without identifying the tree. Adding a site sketch, whole-tree image and observation date makes the enquiry easier to scope and reduces avoidable clarification.
Scope and limits
An enquiry is not an assessment, diagnosis or confirmation that a requested result will be supported.
Use the worksheet
The download contains the prompts and checks above with space for your project notes. It is a plain text document you can edit in a text editor or copy into your project brief. It contains no client information and does not run calculations, import records or change an account.
